Former Bossier star Richardson selected by Las Vegas in fourth round of NFL Draft

Former Bossier star Decamerion Richardson was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.

Richardson, a cornerback, was the No. 12 pick in the round and 112th overall.

Richardson is a 2020 graduate of Bossier. He was star in both football and track and field.

Richardson played four seasons at Mississippi State.

Last season, he started all 12 games. He had 79 total tackles (43 solo, 86 assists). The tackles total ranked third on the team and first among all SEC cornerbacks.

As a junior, Richardson started all 13 games. He was third on the team with 85 tackles.

As a sophomore, he appeared in all 13 games with one start. As a freshman, he appeared in seven games.

After last season, Richardson entered the transfer portal and ultimately chose Ole Miss. But he changed his mind and declared for the NFL Draft.

Richardson made a good showing in the NFL Combine. He ran a 4.34 in the 40.

At Bossier, he was both a standout defensive back and running back. 

In 2019, he helped the Bearkats go 7-3 in the regular season. He earned multiple post season honors including All-Parish

In his junior year, he finished second in the 100 meters and high jump and third in the 200 in the Class 4A state meet.

His senior season was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
