Motorcyclist goes over jersey wall and into the Patapsco River

A male motorcyclist went over a jersey wall into the Patapsco River just beneath Interstate 395 today.

Baltimore City Fire Department Dive Rescue Team responded to Interstate 395 southbound for the report around 12:55 p.m. on April 29.

Units arrived and verified that a civilian riding a motorcycle did in fact go over the jersey wall and into the Patapsco River just beneath interstate I 395.

The dive rescue team launched pontoon boats to canvass the river to locate the victim whose body was found within minutes.

Unfortunately, the victim was found lying in the water, unconscious, non-responsive, and trauma arrest.

The rescue team recovered the victim's body and began administering basic life-support and CPR followed by advanced life support care when placed in the hands of paramedics.

The victim was further treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital for further assessment, and evaluation of injuries, sustained during the fall.

Exactly what caused this incident is unknown at this time, however, is being investigated by Maryland Transportation Authority Police (MDTA).

There were no other reported injuries as result of this incident.
