Kentucky baseball (33-9, 16-5 SEC) dropped four spots to No. 8 in the D1Baseball Week 12 Top 25 rankings.

The drop came after the Wildcats finished 1-2 on the week after losing two out of three on the road against South Carolina, dropping their second consecutive SEC series.

Kentucky was among nine SEC teams that can be found throughout the rankings.

Reaming in the No. 1 for the third straight week is Texas A&M, which finished the week 3-1. The Aggies began their week with a midweek victory over Houston before hosting Georgia for a three game weekend set in which the Aggies took the first two games, but dropped the series finale.

Staying at No. 2 was Arkansas, which finished the week 3-1 after beating Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a midweek matchup before taking the first two games of a weekend series against Florida.

Also staying at No. 3 was Tennessee, which finished the week 4-0 after a midweek victory over Western Carolina and a three-game home sweep over the Missouri Tigers.

After the Wildcats, at No. 15, was South Carolina, which saw the biggest jump in the rankings, moving up nine spots. With no midweek game, the Gamecocks’ only action of the week was taking a home series against the Bat Cats.

Right behind the Gamecocks at No. 16 was Mississippi State, which was one of the two teams who joined this week’s rankings. The Bulldogs defeated Memphis in a midweek game before heading to Nashville for a weekend series that saw them lose the first game, but win the next two and the series against Vanderbilt.

Dropping down six spots to No. 17 was Vanderbilt, which finished 2-2 on the week. The Commodores began their week with a win over UT Martin before hosting Mississippi State for the aforementioned home weekend series.

Moving up one spot to No. 19 was Georgia, which finished the week 2-2. The Bulldogs defeated Clemson in a midweek matchup going on the road to College Station, Texas, for a weekend set against Texas A&M in which they dropped the first two games and the series, but salvaged the series finale.

Rounding out the SEC representation and remaining at No. 23 was Alabama, which finished the week 3-1. The Crimson Tide defeated Samford in a midweek matchup before going on the road against Ole Miss, taking the series.

Along with Mississippi State, Utah joined this week’s rankings at No. 25. The duo replaced Coastal Carolina and Oregon.
