CRASH AND TWO DOZEN OTHERS WERE HURT. WELL, SUMMER WILL LOOK A LITTLE DIFFERENT AT WEIRS BEACH THIS YEAR. THE DRIVE IN THEATER THERE WILL NOT BE SHOWING MOVIES THIS SUMMER. Summer will look a little different at Weirs Beach this year.The drive-in theater there will not be showing movies this summer.In a social media post, theater owners said their teams simply cannot keep things open right now.The post said the drive-in theater will still be a part of Laconia Motorcycle Week and could be part of other community events as well.>> Download the free WMUR app to get updates on the go: Apple | Google Play <<See the full statement here:"The Weirs Drive-In Theater will not be opening for movies this summer. We want to thank all of our wonderful customers, who often times span generations. I have always said this about you, a business couldn't have better customers than you. However, Patti Cakes is out of steam at age 86, and the rest of us have lives and careers that have brought us elsewhere. We love the Drive-In. It is a huge part of each of us, and we have loved being a part, in a small way, of your families and your family vacations. Our portion of Bike Week will continue. We also have a towing event coming in May, and we are open to other such events that others organize and run. We will also begin the process of transforming the Drive-In property for the future. That will begin this summer."
