State-of-the-art luxury movie theater complex coming to Park City

SANDY, Utah — Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres has unveiled plans to acquire and overhaul the Redstone 8 Cinema site at Kimball Junction. The renovation, set to begin on July 1, 2024, is a collaboration between Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres and Larry H. Miller Real Estate, aiming to transform the space into a state-of-the-art luxury theatre complex.

Construction is scheduled to kick off in July 2024, with a grand opening expected before the holiday season. While the Redstone 8 complex will be temporarily closed during renovations, patrons can visit other luxury Megaplex locations in Holladay and downtown Salt Lake City.

“We’re excited to bring Park City and Summit County residents an elevated luxury Megaplex cinema experience, including our superior guest service,” said Britten Maughan, President of Megaplex Theatres. This initiative is part of a broader effort to introduce luxury theatres and entertainment complexes across Utah.

The new luxury complex will have lounge-style recliner chairs, premium snack and beverage services, and the latest in cinema technology.

Located at the site of the original theatre built in 2004, the new Megaplex will continue to serve the community at Kimball Junction.

The announcement also highlighted recent upgrades at other Megaplex locations, including Luxury Box Seats that feature privacy partitions and premium loveseat-style recliners, underscoring the company’s commitment to enhancing the cinema experience throughout the state. Additional projects are currently in development with updates to be announced.
