Two men have been arrested after gardaí in Dublin seized cannabis and cocaine worth a staggering €1.7 million.

On Tuesday, just before 8pm, members of a specialist garda unit conducted an intervention on two vehicles in the Swords area of Dublin.

Officers made the stop from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) as part of ongoing intelligence-led investigations targeting serious and organised crime in Dublin.

Subsequently, searches were also conducted at two residential properties in the Swords and Ballybrack areas of County Dublin.

During this operation, gardaí seized six kilograms of cocaine, 65 kilograms of cannabis, €100,000 in cash, a cocaine press, a mixing agent, and three high-value vehicles. The total value of the controlled drugs seized exceeds €1.7 million, pending analysis.

Two males aged in their 40s and 50s were arrested in relation to drug trafficking and are currently detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A spokesperson for gardaí told the Irish Mirror that investigations into these seizures are ongoing.
