N.Y. Lottery: Winner scores $1M with second-prize Mega Millions ticket

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A New York lottery player recently took home $1 million with a Mega Millions second-prize ticket.

The New York Lottery announced the second-prize-winning ticket was sold for the April 30 Mega Millions drawing.

It was sold at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 North Plan Rd., in Newburgh, N.Y. The location is a hotspot for winning tickets and has sold several winners across most lottery games.

The winning numbers for the April 30 Mega Millions drawing are: 10, 18, 27, 37, 61, and Gold Mega Ball 5.

Winning numbers for the Mega Millions game are drawn from a field of one to 70. The Mega Ball number is drawn from a separate field of one to 25. In order to win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in any order and the gold Mega Ball number.

Mega Millions tickets can be purchased at any New York Lottery retailer for $2, seven days a week. The deadline for purchasing a ticket is 10 p.m. on draw nights.
