LSU baseball carries momentum into the biggest series of the season this weekend.

No. 1 Texas A&M (39-6, 15-6 SEC) comes calling to Alex Box Stadium for a pivotal SEC three-game set.

Led by Jay Johnson, the Tigers (29-17, 7-14 SEC) are heading into the showdown off two straight series wins over SEC teams in Missouri and Auburn. LSU had lost its first five conference series this season before winning the most recent two.

Pitching has led the way for the Tigers the last few games. Starter Gage Jump has thrown 14 consecutive scoreless innings while other starter Luke Holman has been the team's steadiest pitchers all season long. Out of the bullpen, reliever Griffin Herring has emerged to be a weapon for Johnson and the Tigers as he's allowed three runs in his last 26⅔ innings pitched.

A&M's offense will challenge LSU's pitching. Led by Braden Montgomery who hits .365, the Aggies have six everyday starters that bat north of .300 while the team has scored the sixth-most amount of runs this season with 426.

LSU baseball takes on No. 1 Texas A&M in a three-game series this weekend which can be watched on TV Friday (SEC Network) and Saturday (ESPNU). All three games can be streamed on the ESPN app as well as FUBO, which offers a free trial to potential subscribers.

  • Game 2; Saturday, May 4: 6:30 p.m. CT
  • Game 3; Sunday, May 5: 1 p.m. CT

LSU's SEC series against Texas A&M at Alex Box Stadium is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. CT Friday night, 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
