DENISON - The 712 Film Festival Committee and the Donna Reed Foundation will present this year’s 712 Film Festival on May 4, 2024, at 1 pm at the Donna Reed Theatre in Denison, Iowa. Doors will open at 12:30 pm and films will begin at 1 pm. A reception for filmmakers will follow.

“The opportunity to present films in a historic theater in western Iowa will enhance the experience of the viewers as well as provide an attractive venue for student and professional filmmakers to showcase their films,” shared 712 Film Festival Committee Member, Greg Sextro. “This festival showcases some of the wonderful filmmaking talent who reside in Iowa.”

Featured films will be from student and professional filmmakers with a connection to Iowa. Local high school students from IKM-Manning, Coon Rapids-Bayard, LeMars, Cherokee Washington, Denison, Storm Lake, and Ridge View High School will have films included in the festival. Films from The University of Iowa and Grinnell College students will also be included.

The organizers of the 712 Film Festival are Greg Sextro, an actor and writer; Ryan Runyan, a local filmmaker and IKM-Manning High School band instructor and film advisor; Grace Sextro, a film producer and professional editor; and Chuck Hughes, a screenwriter.
