A two-year-old girl died Sunday after being found in a pool in Limestone County.
Coroner Mike West said authorities were initially called in for a missing child search at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Elkmont off Miller Road.
The child was later found at the bottom of a swimming pool. Medics administered CPR until the child was flown by helicopter to Huntsville Hospital, West said.
The child, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
The drowning comes less than two weeks after a two-year-old drowned in Lauderdale County.
