While most may prioritize new additions to streaming apps each month — something we here at IndieWire take great pride in — viewers should also not neglect the fact that with each new property added, another must go. Though some apps do concentrate these expiring selections in a row on one of their menu pages, they aren’t always the easiest to find. Thankfully, we’ve done the work for you. Scouring each major platform and discovering what’s about to disappear from our watchlists, IndieWire has gathered a few selections worth your time before they go from major streamers like Netflix and Prime, as well as apps on the rise like Tubi and Kanopy

In honor of the political conventions being hosted this summer, for our Netflix selection we’ve gone with “Born on the Fourth of July,” directed by Oliver Stone and starring Tom Cruise in an Academy-Award nominated performance as Vietnam veteran and anti-war activist Ron Kovic. George Lucas’s teen hangout flick “American Graffiti” is also leaving Netflix and featured on our highlights list. Exploring cinema that comes from even further back, IndieWire has selected the Marx Brothers 1932 college comedy “Horse Feathers” as our pick off Prime Video, but Humphrey Bogart pictures “Knock on Any Door” and “In a Lonely Place” are also worth a watch. Kanopy also has a hidden gem leaving soon with the 1958 melodrama “Separate Tables,” starring Rita Hayworth, Deborah Kerr, David Niven, and Burt Lancaster.

If you’re interested in something a little more modern and were a fan of this year’s “Civil War,” try Alex Garland’s 2014 directorial debut “Ex Machina” starring Oscar Isaac, Alicia Vikander, and Domnhall Gleeson, set to leave Max at the end of this month. And speaking of debuts, for those looking for a little romance, we’ve got you covered with our selection off of Tubi, the directorial debut of Gina Prince-Bythewood, “Love & Basketball.” There are also two film with anniversaries on our list, with Sergio Leone’s crime classic “Once Upon a Time in America” celebrating 40 years since its release and David Lynch’s “The Straight Story” coming up on 25 years.
