HYDERABAD: Union minister of state and Karimnagar MP, Bandi Sanjay, stoked a controversy on Sunday, saying that the Congress govt should display
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo everywhere, including ration shops, as the Centre was spending 40 per kg as against 10 per kg being spent by the state govt for fine rice.
Addressing a press conference in Karimnagar, he said, "Congress govt is boasting about fine rice bonus, but Centre spends 15,000 crore for rice procurement and the state spends around 2,000 crore. Then whose photos should be on display? It must be Prime Minister
Narendra Modi's," adding that Congress was contributing it in a limited capacity but publicising on a massive scale.
Saying that Congress is suffering from the corruption virus, Bandi mentioned almanac predictions for this year. "This year, pundits predicted that virus would cause problems, seems correct, Congress govt is indulged in collections. People suffered from the pink virus ( BRS), and BJP was the vaccine that fought against them, again we will launch people's agitations as vaccine against corruption virus," he said.
Bandi Sanjay further alleged that the phone-tapping case was being significantly undermined, saying, "
Congress party is facilitating bail for all individuals involved, including Shravan Rao". He accused Congress of shielding KCR's family, noting that despite the passage of a year and a half, there were no arrests or even investigation notices issued.
He claimed that Congress, BRS, and
AIMIM were in collusion, stating that in the GHMC MLC elections, both Congress and BRS were abstaining from the race to facilitate an AIMIM victory. He predicted that the true nature of these three parties would soon be exposed.
