A follow-up to Quentin Tarantino’s Oscar-winning epic, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is on the way.
The film, originally released in 2019, was a huge box-office success. The star-studded cast featured A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. Now, Tarantino is reportedly joining forces with an old friend, David Fincher, to create a sequel to the movie.
It has already been confirmed that Brad Pitt will reprise his role as Hollywood stunt-man Cliff Booth and according to Variety, Tarantino is writing the script. Because Fincher is exclusive to Netflix, the film will be released on Netflix first.
At this point, it remains unclear whether DiCaprio or Robbie will rejoin the cast. Some other stars of the original film have reached new heights of success after the film's release, including Mikey Madison, the Oscar-winning Anora actress, Margaret Qualley who starred in The Substance, and Sydney Sweeney who dazzled in Anyone But You.
News of the Once upon a time sequel, comes a year after Tarantino abandoned plans for what was supposed to be his final feature film. The movie was allegedly titled The Movie Critic, and had already cast Brad Pitt as the lead.

According to The Independent, the movie’s plot was said to be “based on a guy who really lived but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a porno rag.”
Instead, it seems, Pitt is returning to the already wildly successful film world where he played a stuntman who may or may not have killed his wife. It’s not hard to understand why Pitt would want to reprise the role as it won him the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
At present, it remains unclear what the plot of the Once upon a time follow-up might be. On Reddit, Tarantino fans reacted to the news.
One wrote: “If this is an April fools prank, I’m going to be so disappointed.”
Noahrayne added: “Even if it is a prank, I was happily imagining it in my head until I read that it would be about Brad Pitt’s character and not Leo’s. BOOOOOOOOOO.”
Bearjupiter wrote: “This has to be the biggest holy smokes movie news since Marvel and Sony worked out the Spider-Man deal.”
However, not everyone was so excited. @bloodychill wrote: "Screeching 'whyyyyyy'... A perfect movie, no sequel needed.”
