Kilkenny ice hockey is on a high right now following exceptional performances from local players at the SEDMHA Honda Championships.
Church Hill NS pupil, Ludy Raftice, represented Ireland at U13 level with the Irish team narrowly lost 5-4 to the Bluefins in a nail-biting game.
At the same competition, St Kieran's College students, Aidan Sweeney and Callum Robinson will be coming home from Canada as silver medalists having played as part in the U15 Irish squad.

The pair made it to the finals in the top tier of their division but unfortunately it just wasn’t to be for them on the day. However, the team have surpassed all expectations and are the first junior Irish team to bring home silverware.
The achievement of the team in Canada has been met with a great response back home, with Lesley Cleere, Centre Manager at Market Cross Shopping Centre amongst those congratulating the participants.
"We are proud to be a supporter of the U15 hockey team representing Ireland in Nova Scotia," she said.
"A fundraiser was recently held here in the shopping centre and we would like to say thank you to the people of Kilkenny for showing their support to that."
Earlier this month, St Kieran's College student, Sam Cummins represented Ireland at the 'Green Ice Classic' U16 ice-hockey tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The third year student took part in the competition from Wednesday, March 12 to Tuesday, March 18.
