It read: "It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Julian Benson. Julian passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and closest friends after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
"His strength, warmth, and sparkle remained with him until the very end."
Julian was born in Adelaide, Australia, to Irish parents, where he lived until he was 10 years old.
He began dancing at the age of four, which offered him an incredibly successful career in choreography and performance.
In 2017, he became a TV judge on RTE's Dancing With The Stars alongside Loraine Barry and Brian Redmond.

In 2018, Julian publicly confirmed he had cystic fibrosis, having been diagnosed with the condition at the age of two.
He went on to launch the Julian Benson CF Foundation, a charity which fought to help those with Cystic Fibrosis.
Last year, Julian was on dialysis when he received a kidney transplant, describing it as "the best Christmas present".
Earlier this year, a special episode of Room To Improve saw Julian, working alongside Dermot Bannon, lead the development of and open Tranquility House on Grosvenor Road in Dublin.
He described the project as a "home away from home" for people with cystic fibrosis. It offers accommodation to families travelling to Dublin for treatment.
Julian leaves an enormous legacy behind him, and will sadly be missed by his family and friends.
