Sindhi Culture Day celebrated across province

SUKKUR: The Sindhi Culture Day began as Sindhi Topi and Ajrak Day under a theme of ‘One Sindh One Nation’, being celebrated across the country with traditional clothes, folk songs and rallies. The Sindhi Culture Day was being celebrated across the province with enthusiasm, as people presented Sindhi Topi and Ajrak to shopkeepers, traders and others as a gesture of love and affection. The colors were scattered all over Sindh on Sunday as people expressed their love for their culture.

Different programs and cultural shows were organised by political and social organizations, while the people put on customised dresses, folk clothes with Sindhi Topi and Ajrak to show love for their culture. Children from different schools danced on folk songs and made speeches during the events.

Rallies consisting of cultural colours were taken out across the province, while various functions were also held in schools and colleges, whereas stalls were set up to display the traditional cultural items. The day was celebrated in various cities of Sindh, including Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Naushahro Feroz, Moro, Larkana, Dadu, Jamshoro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, Hyderabad, Mithi, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Badin, Sanghar and others.

Activists of different political parties, members of civil society, trade unions, journalists, students, intellectuals, and commoners with colorful dress danced on Sindhi folk songs. Sindhi Culture Day is a beautiful mixture of the culture of ancient Indus along with Islamic civilizations, representing the mirror of humanity, friendship and generous spirits of the Mehran valley.
