AR conducts employment mela

Ukhrul, October 21 2019:
In its efforts to guide the youth in choosing their most suitable careers, Somsai Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a joint employment mela at Ukhrul, today.
The mela was aimed at generating awareness among the youth and the students of Ukhrul regarding the multitude of professional options and opportunities available, said a statement of IGAR (S).
Apart from Assam Rifles personnel, the mela was also attended by experts from State Bank of India (SBI), Jettwings Academy of Hospitality Management, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and police personnel, it said, adding that the students were informed not only about the job opportunities but also about the entrepreneurial possibilities.
It also said that Ranjan Kumar Baruah, recipient of National Youth Award and founder of the North East Youth Foundation gave a motivational speech during the event, apart from elucidating the youth about the importance of career planning, goal setting and confidence building.
SP Ukhrul Ningsen also interacted with the students to channelise the young minds towards civil services for direct involvement in the development of their communities, it added.
Over 300 students from different parts of Ukhrul attended the mela.
