Imphal, September 11 2021:
Expressing grave concern over the violent activities directed towards CPI-M and left front in Tripura, CPI-M Manipur State Council has demanded BJP to stop the violence.
In a statement, CPI-M Manipur state council alleged that BJP members vandalised CPI-M Tripura HQ office in Melarmath, Agartala and other offices in Tripura including Gomti district committee office, Sepahijala district committee office, Vishalgarh sub-divisional committee office, West Tripura district committee office and SADAR sub-divisional committee office.
They also burnt down Udaipur sub-division office.
The state committee office located in Agartala was the most affected office in the violent attack as the BJP goons vandalised the ground floor and the first floor.
They also burned two cars and sf atue of state's party leader Dasarath Dev, the statement said.
The BJP goons did not even spared media in their attack as they went on to vandalise the offices of electronic media channel 'PN-24' and print media Daily Desarkatha' .
Police forces remained as silent spectator throughout the whole incident.
Though CRPF jawans were deployed in front of the state committee office, they left about one hour before the incident, the statement alleged.
Maintaining that the violent attack was orchestrated by the BJP government in Tripura along with some gangs, the statement said that it was a desperate act of the ruling BJP to suppress the voice of the main opposition party in the state as all their earlier attempts failed.
It was also an attack on democracy and every person who believes in democracy should condemn the attack, it added.
The CPI-M Manipur council further demanded the central government, especially the home ministry to stop such activities at once and uphold the rights and interest of the common people of Tripura failing which it cautioned of launching protest against such violent attack.
