A group of children have been causing a nuisance in Bodmin by threatening staff and scaling buildings. Devon and Cornwall Police said it hopes to have put a stop to recent behaviour.

Just last week members of the public also alerted police to a teenager, aged just 13, carrying a kitchen knife around the town. Now the force says children were seen climbing onto abandoned buildings and threatening staff at the local cinema, Capitol Cinema on Mount Folly.

Bodmin Police said: "We recently posted about Children causing issues in and around Bodmin Town Centre. This included climbing onto the roofs of abandoned buildings and threatening staff at the cinema.

"Today (Saturday, May 11) the Neighbourhood Team have been out issuing Anti-Social Behaviour warnings to the individuals involved. This also allows us to speak to the individuals’ parents and make them aware of their child’s behaviour. Hopefully for some this will prevent any further escalation."

On May 3 whilst on patrol units and a special constable were approached by members of public reporting a young male in possession of a knife. Units located the 13-year-old who was detained and searched.
